Be patient, therefore, brothers, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient about it, until it receives the early and the late rains. James 5:7
Patience, like a farmer. It shouldn’t be hard to understand that. The context seems to be a sociopolitical commentary. James identifies a social injustice,
but then encourages all to be patient and wait for the LORD. He even refers to Job, a man who experienced a lot, but never really got an answer or explanation. He waited for the Lord, who did not give him an explanation in this life. However, Job was blessed, with patience and returning wealth. It demonstrates that those who wait for the LORD, will never be disappointed. Whether that will be sooner or later, does not take away the certainty that God can be trusted to keep His promises. His story
teaches us our future.
