“For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for
the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put
to death in the flesh” 1 Peter 3: 18
The apostle speaks about Christ’s suffering in the
context of human suffering. That Christ suffered once for
sins appears to be understood, but the suffering of the
believers less so.
The apostle spoke about honouring Christ the Lord in
your hearts, being prepared to make a defense about the
reason for the hope that is in you… having a good
conscience… good behavior. To me it sounds as if he is
speaking to us. Our conditions and our reactions to it
should be viewed through the lens of Christ’s suffering.
After all, the victory is secure, what can man do to us?!
