This is the great and first commandment.
Matthew 22: 28.

The Lord Jesus confirms with so many words what He
was asked. He answered the Pharisees’ question, but adds
that confirmation. It sounds like a “yes, indeed”. It sounds
like an “obviously so…”

It shows that there was nothing wrong with the
Pharisees question. To love God is the obvious
commandment. It was there from the beginning and will
be there to the end. However, to know the words must be
followed by the act of love. Jesus directs the Pharisees and
all people to express the commandment in action. Loving
God and loving the neighbour. Loving the Invisible God
and loving the visible neighbour. He challenges us to
work on the harmony between talk and walk.
